To date (10 July 2012) I still Android 2.3.6 instead of Android 4. An update is offered to me neither KIES even over WiFi.
Unfortunately, I have noticed this deficiency too late.
Addendum: The review refers also to the following deficiencies that may resolve with a firmware update:
- The SG2 boots several new week. Just because. Sometimes I hear the startup sound, sometimes not, then I am not available. Absolutely unacceptable for a phone.
- When I use "Portable Wi-Fi hotspot", then the SG2 depends on. Can I reproduce regularly ...
- Although Wi-Fi is turned on, it does not connect to my wireless access point. Sometimes it helps, the WLAN on SG2 off and on, sometimes it helps just a reboot. After the reboot, the SG2 connects to the wireless network without complaint, so the access point is not it, and other devices do not have a problem with my access point.
- Although I am not a power user, the battery is dead already often before the end of the workday. The battery indicator does not reflect the reality.
Another plus point:
+ With Assisted GPS I have a GPS signal within a few seconds. This is much faster than on my Samsung Galaxy S (no 2). Even in warehouses or supermarkets ("thin" roofs?) I get a GPS signal. But I need a phone, not a navigator. Apart from the fast GPS Navigator of Google is really bad, that makes my cheaper Navigator in the car much better.
