The build quality and finish looks pretty good ... but a priori the first copy received was leaking at the base of the tank, he quickly took it back to Amazon (thankfully easy process and without incurring postage.)
I will not go (well, not too much!) On the choice of a capsule machine. In this category, Nespresso offer, it seems to me, the best espresso system in terms of taste. This in return for a high cost of use and a choice of coffees necessarily more restricted than with a system for using coffee powder or incorporating a grain mill.
The manufacturer saw fit - probably by modernity - to dress up this control device 100% tactile, in addition to an automatic ejection capsule system, unlike older models or Essenza Pixie. Very bad idea lamented from the first use: there is more power on / mechanical stop - which does nevertheless not prevent the Pixie to turn off automatically after 9 minutes of inactivity.
There are only three buttons along the top of the machine, for a lot of functions as short presses, long, very long, simultaneous ...: choice of coffee to spill volume (3 presets possible) and reprogramming these volumes, intermediate stop use, on / off, special modes (scaling, emptying ...) In short, it is less simple than might have been expected at the time of purchase. In addition, the capsule is ejected alone four seconds after stopping the flow of coffee, so you have exactly four seconds to restart the machine if you want to extend your coffee. Better stay off the machine when it works for the monitor and do not miss this fateful moment (especially as the amount of coffee is not always exactly the same from one time to another.) No very inconvenient! Conversely, this latency is tedious when you have x cafes to prepare, because it is impossible to go faster (the capsule insertion door is locked during these 4 seconds, followed by ejection itself even that requires a few extra seconds ... much longer than with manual Nespresso.)
It also lacks an empty tank indicator light (as in Pixie.) It might seem superfluous to the transparent tank, but if you start to run a cafe while there is more water, we risk spoil the capsule that becomes unusable (PS Correction:. in reality, we can still "save" the capsule provided to fill the tank in the minute following the blockage and restart the machine.)
There still was a welcome development, as the collector drops magnetically attached, the water tank to be changed direction ... The unit heats up quickly, 30 seconds are enough. The fact of manipulating the cover to insert the capsule puts the machine, and coffee flows when the machine is warm (sometimes best be the enemy of good: consider installing a cup within 30 seconds after setting en route, otherwise your coffee will flow into the void ...)
Overall I would have preferred that Nespresso makes a machine similar to the Pixie, just larger (water tanks and waste of Pixie capsules are too small, those of the "U" are scarcely larger.) The touch buttons do not bring anything, are not very pleasant to use and sometimes difficult to use. They have at best an aesthetic interest ...
