The finish is good, even better on plastic grid on top, perfectly fixed to the casing while it is a little wobbly on the Elements. Even the packaging is better, thicker, better protecting the disc on delivery. It includes a small transformer and a USB cable 3 SS. Warning, the case has only one USB port SS: do not forget the cable during transport, otherwise it will be impossible to connect with a USB cable more common.
Small LED on the front to indicate the reading and writing activity.
Plug and play under Windows (NTFS, various software copied to the disc and installable with one click).
Software to encrypt the content, and software that controls the drive status and sets the standby are available. Updating to the latest version is elementary. They work seamlessly with no bugs so far. Only the backup suite demo 30 days, it becomes then pay.
The My Book drive is quiet and very little heat, even when the disc is loaded in duration. Transfer time is not bad, but it will be limited by the weakest device: check the consistency of your equipment if speed is paramount.
For reliability, we will see in use, but for now I have never had a problem with Western Digital.
The Western Digital My Book is an excellent drive: 5/5. I highly recommend and advise to choose the model rather than the mediocre range Elements.
