I first tried it with the hoses to the return ports, but was dissatisfied with the result (although it was already much quieter) and then I found the following solution:
Take an Aldi plastic bag ... stuff it crumpled into the water reservoir and then fill up the water to the brim. You have to make sure that the plastic bag is the surface of the reservoir, so the top and the hose to the pump surrounds clean.
Now he is so quiet that you only hear the gentle lapping of Springbrunnendüse. Had he standard quieter, I would have given 5 stars, but at a cost of 20 cents use I give only 4 points. Hint: We have been around for years fountains and tap water is as totally unsuitable! Better is the use of distilled water, because then there is no uglier Kalkfilm forms. I buy the 20 liter canisters in the aquarium business.
