I had the impression when reading to read two ragtag stories lack a common thread. The rule of thumb in Hamilton novels ever less sex the better the story comes to bear here too! In this book I have the impression she has taken refuge in sex scenes because it nothing else has occurred, which I thought was more than surprising, because for me Hamilton is the queen of extravagant ideas, each book otherwise has its own particular history, which apart from the others. Again, I initially had the impression of a whole new story, but vanished quickly.
I am a Hamilton supporter, both the old and the new books. But this book is the weakest of the series before Flirt. I just hope that it gets its act and we will retain Anita Blake! The Anita Blake series has some loose ends, maybe the author develops indeed from these few stories!
