The CD is an excellent compilation that illustrates the style of Rhoda Scott: a virtuosity in the service of music (not vice versa); jazz designed as a way of dealing melodies from various sources (not a closed book); an irresistible swing; clear music, 'readable' and rich in both ... That's fine, but for those who know the artist, it is not a surprise.
The DVD is itself a surprise: two concerts (1972 and 1973) and a documentary on his career which we reveal the present and of great simplicity, especially with his heirs 'spiritual' (some pieces of 'duels' two organs are shown).
A must for every amateur Hammond organ, and even any jazz fan (unless allergic to organ .. it exists!)
