Well suited for Fritzbox or IPFire

Place the stick on a router with a IPFire (2.13 Core Update 71). The embroidery work by inserting the (1 & 1) simcard out of the box. The only thing you need to know is that is not addressed (among IPFire) as a modem to the stick! The drive generates a "real" network interface under IPFire. It is in the setup interface of the stick on DHCP and that's it. The stick itself has its own small DHCP server and this then assigns an address in the 192.168.1.0/24 range of the router. Important this address area should not be used on another interface (eg green). If all goes well you can reach the Web interface of the stick then under 192.168.1.1. Great settings you can not make but here.

The stick separates apparently after a while without traffic the connection itself (estimated after a few hours) and these can then be apparently no longer wakes from IPFire. Here helped a reboot, but may also reaches a neueinstecken the stick.

Ansich I am very satisfied, the score for the (unmeasured, but according to data sheet) low maximum bandwidth and no longer recoverable automatic idle-separation. Also, the Web Interface on 192.168.1.1 do not like very, since the settings are restricted and can not be password-protected access to it (eg for potential malware).

Had to stick well to a Fritz! Box (7270) with the latest firmware out of the box where he was also recognized and worked.
