The music could be perhaps as Death Americana, Country Folk Death or Western Gothic call if you unbdedingt a drawer need it. In addition to classic folk and country instrumentation especially the beautiful cello by Sarah Balliet impressed the the Americana sound of the band so special, are these dark melancholy.
The songs are gloomy ballads, morbid stories about coffins, whiskey, the devil drowned lovers and other strange occurrences. The whole thing will be carried forward to the versatile voice of Adam Turla. Times his singing is reminiscent of Nick Cave, then again it is meant Johnny Cash is resurrected or Tom Waits makes again a plan.
A very good album that got me to get me the rest of the discography of the band. The upcoming holidays are saved.
Very good Suited among other friends of David Eugene Edwards (Wovenhand, 16 Horsepower), said Nick Cave and Johnny Cash or Okkervil River.
