Platinum opens with modern cross-over music, inspired to pop and rock, but then followed by ballads, duets, vaudeville, traditional bluegrass, and lo and behold Country, as Miranda has sung on their first two albums. Maybe not as consistent in their choice of number, Platinum has become a beautiful collage of their skills. Just Something bad (a duet with Carrie Underwood) does not really her.
Had I at Revolution clearly the impression that Miranda Lambert had made too many concessions to the pop music and the associated production methods, so you can hear again the good old Miranda. A relief, I find that it is received back to the music that she does best.
Miranda's lyrics have always been notable here it is really worth of some songs to read along the lyrics times. I recommend this especially girls, Priscilla, babies making babies and Another Sunday in the south. And the most beautiful set comes probably from Platinum: what doesnt kill you, only makes you blonder. Marilyn Monroe had Mirandas Überlebungsphilosophie in Showbizzgeschäft can not better express.
