What is me because since come to my attention?

After my Plantronics 780 Gamecom was broken through the bracket, I thought to myself:

So, how this is so, I bought the G930 last week Tuesday in Media Markt to me because I did not want to wait for the order.
Priced it was there at around 150 and I could bargain down to 140, which is the current Amazon price. So all good, but a way to test did not exist - just touch and set up was possible. Paid short, get account taken and departure.

Arriving home turned out to be as easy to install. The Logitech Gaming Software, which I also use for my G11 keyboard, the device immediately recognized. Great I thought it was even half charged.

However, when the first use I got a fright.

I had in any application, be it iTunes, games or movies feel that the right earphone plays a little louder than the left. Since I first thought it was a configuration / or driver error, I began naturally immediately googling:
"G930 right side louder" and Bäm - felt a thousand hits.
There seems to be aware that there are massive problems with the balance in this headset. Sometimes it is because the Windows "7.1 - channels", which does not possess this stereo headset, incidentally, triggers false and somehow slightly shifts the sound to the right side. And again, sometimes you come to believe that it has to do with hardware-related space issues within the housing, since it is installed on one side of the battery.

Unfortunately, this headset, which is actually a normal stereo headphones, do not switch on pure stereo. Windows recognizes it as a 7.1 system ever!
Turning off the surround channels in the Windows playback devices and thus the programming to stereo has brought me nothing regarding balance. As before, the feeling remains that the tone light comes from the right. In games such as Counter Strike you have the feeling, when an opponent comes running from behind, the sound echoes from behind the right.
The balance, if one is to "surround switch" activated on the G930 a little better, but then you hear just one more Hall effect. The surround mode can be at all places no more enemies in FPS games, which is why this mode is total nonsense for me. Even when listening to music is "Surround Off", despite the balance problem, due to the clearer sound quality, my mode of choice.

Another problem is that you can adjust the balance among the playback devices / characteristics / level not supported on Windows. This is a huge issue for me. I can at any stereo device, which is connected to my PC adjust the balance - but not on my stereo headset where the Tön is right louder than the left ?! But is crap!
Well alone would already enough reasons for me to return the device back, but I still say just a little to the rest of the features:

Battery: I noticed positively. If it is full, it has a maximum duration of 10 hours, which I think is quite good. Once the headset itself known when the battery is low, you close to the included cable and wait about 3 hours until it is fully charged again. It can therefore also use wired both your wireless. I like that - especially because you can adjust the cable length by means of a kind of cable drum.

Range: If I have noticed very positive. In 20sqm rooms transferring remains absolutely constant and is never interrupted me. If one, two rooms away, so the transmission will remain largely stable. Only when I go to the stairs down disconnects shortly and will be restored soon, when I am back under my room. In all, this is a good result. I am satisfied. The G-keys could be for longer distances without delay use (eg Play / Pause).

Software: The software used is as I said, the Logitech Gaming Software, which recognizes the G930 spontaneously and it picks up in the circle of personal Logitech devices. The G-keys can be programmed easily and things like easily adjust the supplied equalizer. The one negative to me, unfortunately, that it is not possible to mute the microphone by G button. While there is even a setting for the G-keys "Mute microphone", but I have not managed even after a long back and forth to try the microphone on and off by pressing the button and then on again. It's true, but then no longer with the same button. (God knows why ... maybe I'm also something wrong set at the repeat options or elsewhere.) Although you can the microphone also easily mute when one pops up there, but I do not want every time for 5 seconds fold up my microphone, What if I drink or so. On my Plantronics I just could quickly move a switch and it was dumb. The folding of the microphone is for me a step backwards - that's why I wanted it so vain program with the G button.

Also you can adjust the software volume of each channel in surround mode, but only stepped settings from 0-11 are possible there. In my balance problem, this has not helped, because the jump from 11 to 10 was too big, so suddenly the left earpiece too loud ... Logitech should revise its software and there simply installing slider (0-100%).

Otherwise, I hardly falls somewhat a headset. What can I say? Short Summary:

Design is quite nice.
Weight is normal.
Battery runs.
Reach well.
Plug'n Play works.
Sound quality is absolute scrap for 140.
Surround 7.1 is a fairy tale.

So what have I done?
I have looked for an alternative to headsets and came across the solution "professional headset, sound card and microphone."

In short I a Beyerdynamic now I've bought DT-990 Pro 250 Ohm, an Asus Xonar Essence STX and a Zalman ZM-MIC1 - and now I really quality time.
The quality is again wired and a little more expensive, but I do again what I did and the life expectancy of the items are very high.

I can only recommend the Logitech G930 people who appreciate design and Kabellosigkeit value and necessarily want to buy Logitech product, because the friends it all.

All the others who are also on sound quality and listening pleasure -> Stay away.
Comparing the sound even with a real studio headphones and you would not touch with a barge pole, the G930.

To all G930 Owner: Please do not hate - I have nothing against you, but my hat's just not like that. The balance problems, which you may not have, I can only say - I've got it by all means tries to resolve and do not get it.
