History: in August, the film adaptation of Marvelcomics "Guardians of the Galaxy" was released in theaters. As soundtrack here is an old tape that "Star Lord" once got together by his "movie nut" of the main characters. These old songs lend the strips extreme coolness and ensure that you can see him with the necessary wink.
A few weeks after the release of the movie this soundtrack swung No. 1 on the US album charts - only drawback: there are "only" 12 songs on it! Not enough - the thought probably the small label Goldenlane Records and conjured up in no time at this "sequel" off the cuff. So - and now you go to my real Rezi:
What is there romps on the 70's mixtapes, is really a motley crew, what an ever recalls the quirky hero of the film - had and sweater that looked like test patterns, pants, whose leg ends the scope of a basketball basket and hairstyles, well ... never mind that!
Spirit in the sky "you get from Elton John served," Another brick in the wall "from the Tubes singer Fee Waybill and" Bohemian Rhapsody "at all from John Wetton (to have one but yourself can save me)! Moreover, most . Songs Re-Recordings, which means they will still performs from the original artists, but not in the original or well-known version "This is an absolute no-go" I hear there Well, actually already - but strangely it works here somehow ! It actually gives the impression as if you had just found an old cassette in the memory and you can not believe what brings everything to light (I was there - By the way - also recalls the time when me an old friend always his previous radio recordings auditioned on his iconic tape recorder! What would a 20 year old in the face of this equipment say these days ...)
Well - if all this is not enough yet, for there's even the hint that I really discovered some true "pearls" on these mixtapes:
- Jim Croce's "Bad Bad Leroy Brown" in an acoustic version (in the tracklist is known's "Demo")
- America's "Horse With No Name" in a live version
- Superbly-sad "Send in the Clowns" by Judy Collins
- The Doors' classic "Light My Fire" is performing by Ian Gillan
- Well, and just as many, forever no longer belonged to the things that can make a somewhat wistful!
So who had fun at "Awesome Mix Vol.1" from the said film which can also discover here quite a lot of good! Incredible 68 songs (who - like me - decide for both CDs)! Since you can not really complain, even if one or the other song is not always the quality of the original equivalent ("Magic" pilot is there a case in point). I now must necessarily looking for a pencil - rewind the tape ...
