This is probably the most famous quote of this so often forgotten film, once it is also the last words of the protagonist Luke Jackson (Paul Newman, one of his best performances!), Called Cool Hand Luke. Because of damage to public property, he was sentenced to 2 years' imprisonment in a forced labor camp. There the prisoners are tortured not only with extreme physical labor, but also cruel guards and the warden (Strother Martin). But Luke does not give up: He befriends the leader of the prisoners, Dragline (George Kennedy, brilliant!) And shows his comrades that he rebels against the tyranny of his beloved mother's death (Jo Van Fleet) he tears out. But without success: Luke is wiederaufgespürt and is placed from there in chains. After a second outbreak fails he only tortured and beaten by the guards. In desperation, he bends the violence .... but not for long! - Cool Hand Luke Cool Hand Luke or my personal favorite movie. He not only excels through the magnificent acting performance of all actors (From Paul Newman on Strother Martin to Jo Van Fleet, not forgetting all the prisoners), but also on the well-implemented Story: The factual report based on a tragedy touches the audience, the characters loved; amazing is the soundtrack by Lalo Schifrin and some memorable scenes, like the squashed 50 eggs in Luke or where he sings the song "Plastic Jesus". A must for every movie lover !!!!!
