Taking the well 200 grams heavy lantern from the package you have at first only a small black-orange cylinder with a diameter of 8.5 cm and a height of 5 cm in front of him.
The LED lens made of glass acts like a framed translucent marble.
By pressing on the power button is switched on by the mode Dimmed / light / flash.
The light generated in the process but not really a skin from the stool.
A relatively small illuminated circle, which can be used for spot lighting only, but unsuitable larger areas or even areas is actually to brighten.
The real highlight of this lamp is revealed only upon unfolding, making this an excellent outdoor lantern.
By then visible white tissue the environment is illuminated very warm and friendly.
The light output appears suddenly many times higher than in the previous state.
So far me the following criticisms are noticed.
Spinnig the lantern is a bit tricky when the thread but merges neatly as possible.
Too bad I find the lack of built-in battery, which would have made here right times meaning.
Instead TaoTronics uses AA batteries, which are unfortunately not included.
So I will perforce have to sacrifice three Eneloops to operate this lamp because batteries for the planned in my frequent use would simply be too expensive.
The lamp should be actually splashproof to IP44.
TaoTronics speaks in the product description erroneously even Waterproof, then warns but oddly in the existing on German Quick Start Guide explicitly before to excessive use in the rain.
I can it make any sense to me, because for me is IP44 splashproof and thus encourage capable without any ifs and buts.
In sum, I can recommend this as a lamp Camping / Outdoor Lantern and would like to have given 5 stars
But the critiques (batteries instead integrated battery and dubious IP44 capability) take me to good four stars.
I hope this review could assist you in your buying decision
