Fourth album for Franck Monnet increasingly side with the profession and the media, but the audience still unfairly reduced. It focuses Malidor the different facets of the artist, and above all his immense qualities of melody (either in the pop-rock record, the ballad or the final lullaby); the texts of this album are deliberately lighter, without losing beauty either. The album was recorded in three, with Francois Lasserre (guitars) & Franck M'Bouéké (drums, percussion), Monnet playing other instruments (not to mention her beautiful voice) and ensuring the delivery; an extremely effective trio, including on stage (it feels to attend a concert Police times). It is high time to discover Franck Monnet, and this album is the best introduction to his work. Thematically, travel, escape or otherwise dominate (to love, the mythical cities of Barcelona and London, the mysterious country and its many pleasures Malidor (for insomniacs), youth (18 years), or death (particularly through the beautiful evocation of Cesare Pavese)). Giving the piece its title track alone justifies buying the cd, for its complex melody and its amazing chorus that let you go more ("bonn'aise / bonn'aise / taste them / taste them" ). Malidor really is an album both extremely rich, efficient and pleasant, which will loop for a long time on your turntables and your heads. So have a try!
