I use the device in the hotspot mode because I travel a lot and my Chromecast have always with you.
So I log in Hotel Wifi and use the Asus adapter as a hotspot for my Mac, my Android smartphone and for my Chromecast.
So I can then, for example, my Plex Media Server files, Youtube etc. controlled by the Android phone from play by Chromecast on the TV and I have to just 1x register or login in Wifi.
Just perfect ...
The only drawback is that the adapter when connecting to a WiFi makes a reboot, probably because of the Hotspot mode is activated ... this takes about 1 minute but you can configure the device without wires via a browser, even from your smartphone.
