Philips LED bulb 8W / 48W replaced / 827/600 lumens / E27 19,298,500 (household goods)

Customer Review

Preliminary FYI: I paid for this bulb on 11/15/2013 13,49 Euro.

Why a LED bulb?
I've bought the cheaper mercury with fluorescent technology. There have so far bought 5 different all known and unknown producers and have to say, not convinced me. They have neither the promised life respected, yet brought the full power immediately and frequently flickered. Mostly I changed back to light bulbs, because it so was not worth living. Light is for the people but an important thing, a feel-good factor!

Since we already verwernden an LED bulb in the household in the hallway, which was outrageously expensive 5 years ago, but to date and the good service has done even an LED bulb was needed now. The good reviews here and the fact that this bulb has a standard size and is therefore to be used normally, have convinced me.

The first impression: Wow, easy to install, immediately, immediately super bright! And even brighter than expected.

In Detail:

Brightness
Light output to be as 48 watts. This seems to me also, often described here, an understatement. The bulb will appear much brighter. The brightness is specified with 600 lumens. How are we to compare?
Bulb 40 Watt 400 lumens, 60 watts Glüchlampe about 720 lumens. With 600 lumens, this lamp is so bright perceived by the human eye already 50%, as a 40 watt bulb.

Light color
The light seems a little colder than a normal bulb but: Usually nobody depends on a naked bulb, but it is always a lampshade drum, the eh distorts the light color. Furthermore, this light affects the daylight much closer and therefore more enjoyable. So I do not great reddish shimmering light now. It may just not be too cold / bluish, but that's not the case here.

Type
The bulb is exactly as large as an ordinary light bulb. But the light shines more down and to the side rather than upward. In my ceiling lights is not a problem. With a floor lamp, it may be that the downward light distribution (pear oriented upward) if necessary is unusually weak.

Delay / jitter
The bulb is immediately, at full power. Making a difference to a normal light bulb I can not determine. When lit, no flicker can be seen. When you turn off lights they still for a moment, that is 1-2 seconds can still be seen a declining residual brightness. But that is not a disadvantage but an advantage because it is not immediately pitch dark after switching off. But the effect is very small.

**** Conclusion ****
So far, the department has paid off. The bulb has all the features that I missed from the previous energy-saving bulbs with fluorescent technology. The performance is surprisingly good, almost beyond belief. I would use this lamp rather than a 60 watt bulb. As a replacement for a 40 watt bulb, it is almost too bright. Do you test on an individual basis. How did the pear hits in the endurance test, remains to be seen. Once it is broken, I will report here. As long as I do not write anything, they will light still in the nursery, where it is in daily use!
