did to me this can risen use AC WLAN stick to the 5GHz network and because it is the smallest AC Stick I can find. Installation etc. runs smoothly.
The Windows own drivers cause that the 5GHz network is not detected. Thus you load either the driver from the website, or use the included mini CD.
The problem is that larger amounts of data not arrive in one piece. Neither on 5GHz still on 2.4 Ghz.
Say Downloads (whether Download Manager or directly via Internet Explorer or Firefox) just keep on. If it is possible to pause and resume downloads, then you come to any end. But otherwise, just do not. Who uses certain Download Manager, will observe that the download after a few minutes again starts on its own, but after 10 seconds and stops again. On YouTube it manifests itself so that it loads to a certain point and then stops. You can either reload and hope or one sets the knob just a bit forward, and then the video begins to reload.
I have already had contact with TP Link. Unfortunately, you do not know what it could be. I have 2 different systems tested and it came out doing the same thing. The TP Link developers are probably precisely because of national holiday in China for some time not there and hope that I can soon new reports.
On a Win 7 Pro system I could not notice this behavior, but it had not been extensively tested.
If anyone here can work with the Stick and Win 8.1 without problems, You may feel free to leave a comment.
If the stuff works, I also give the 5 stars here :)
25/11/14 edit:
After I installed the system works the stick also wonderful. At a second Win 8.1 system the stick makes still faxing, which is not to bother me further. The support was also very courteous and helpful. (Even though he still could not provide a solution to me). How the problem was ultimately, unfortunately I could not figure out.
Regarding
As -Hitzeentwicklung: The stick is indeed under intense use warm but certainly not hot
-5 GHz network: I can easily select the channel region in the advanced settings. But should be noted that no adjustment provides the full range available.
The fact that I have assigned to my router a fixed frequency range, I have no problem with the connection is lost after a change of the transmission channel.
