The Wi-Fi data reader came with the latest firmware available at the time (CWFB109-324-V253-20130523-WiReaderHama-ML-3850 from 24.05.2013), ie. Update not needed (but easily). On the Android Tablet App Version 1.0 is installed.
My review: Backup a well-filled SD card with 866 photo files (JPG and RAW) - 7:18 GB. First case: There must be enough space not only on the destination SD card, but ... So, at first a little shovel capacity for temp directory also directly on the device.
Read was from an SDHC Memory Card Class 6 (in the Wi-Fi data reader), written on a SDHC Memory Card Class 10 (in Tablet). The data transfer via WiFi (WPA2-PSK) lasted 66 minutes. This brings me to a (totally unscientific determined) data transfer rate of about 156 MB / s. Tablet and Wi-Fi data reader are located right next to each other in my test. Depending on the environment, participating Tablets and their OS version, memory card speed etc. may of course at any results significantly deviating come!
Tablet and Wi-Fi data reader were both connected to a power source, how long the device requires no power, so I have not tested here.
To devaluation leads the somewhat primitive app: You can select all files for the transfer - or individual, but not files by a certain parameter (such as date of creation). For JPG files, there is a small thumbnail preview, you can read it in big. The temporary memory is not automatically released after copying can be released after all in the app (thumbnail cache - but the 8G were not only thumbnails ...). There are for file transfer following views: videos, photos, music, documents, and (most important): Folder View.
Conclusion: is the next holiday with in the camera bag.
