The number of connectors USB3 port is often still limited to 2 on many PCs, while others last usb2 but the number of devices USB3 is becoming higher (external HDD, Blu-ray burner, key (s) USB) HUB this avoids having to constantly plug / unplug the USB cables over the needs. The fact that it is self-powered avoids nth power supply. I found that the Usb3 is "likely" that the USB2 devices are occasionally found recognition problems. With this HUB I have had no problems. I note with satisfaction that as usual the product description in Plugable is accurate (in this case the chipset is indicated) we know what we bought it) Sometimes in others if it is not indicated it is because it's an outdated version ... Fast delivery.
Note: if you want to connect multiple devices large energy consumers (self-powered hard drives) it is best to take a self-powered hub (but rarely needed)
