... I've been listening to this album. With a lot of tension, the new and first regular studio album by Queen after the death of Freddie Mercury (RIP) was expected! Caveat: Sure, here does not sing Freddie (is probably also difficult), but Paul Rodgers, in his self a living legend (including ex FREE / BAD COMPANY), and one of the best white blues-rock singer in the world. And one more thing ... in advance of course it sounds different than with Freddie. Paul Rodgers tried not even to imitate the incomparable style of Mercury, but sets its own, bluesier elements. Who will approach as Queen / Rodgers fan without prejudice, sincerely and openly to this album, you'll love this album, or at least very like. It's just nice to come back to hear Brian May's guitar unvergeichliche, the unique typical Queen choirs (from Brian May and Rodger Taylor), and the bombastic, typical Queen sound. If a comparison is really necessary, then I would say ... These are Queen, as they are more likely in the 70s sounded (more rock, less pop, or classical), with the sound of today and with Paul on vocals. Of course you also pays tribute Rodgers and so here and there, there are increasing bluesy elements ... but hey, not a Queen album sounded in the past as the other. Instead, the band has successfully tried to reinvent itself again and again. So even with this album, which I really recommend anyone minded rock fan. Hope we will hear more from this collaboration Queen / Paul Rodgers in the future. From me there 4+ by 5 points with tribute to the enthusiasm and courage of the players! ;-))
