I have no comparison with cheap imitations, but this one just (ode same short) holds the same length as the current supplied from the factory battery. Due to the lack of viewfinder of the EOS-M, the display's just constantly on that eats electricity, therefore, at least one second battery obligatory anyway ... tip: Disables the permanent Auto-Focus (except you do video), thus saving you a lot of energy!
