With training very good program

Those who like to edit pictures in order to perpetuate these in a photo album or to hang on the wall, who need not only time, but also a good program that one pretty much gives each design option, to which one can only think. Most likely there probably occur to Adobe's Photoshop. Class program and I've been using it for several years - only downside - the program will cost a nice pile of money. Who does not want to pay, who does not have good pictures now but check off the same. Maybe worth looking at Corel and its program Paint Shop Pro X6 Ultimate, which offers very similar editing options such as the programs of Adobe, but at substantially less cost.

INSTALLATION:

Let us first of all to install the program. Supplied with 2 CDs are included. CD 1 grants the program itself, CD 2 provides additional software.
Overall, the installation went smoothly with me and was completed after a short time. The only drawback: If you want to install additional software on CD 2 - so you have to install each of the existing programs individually. A total selection there were unfortunately not. Be worth the extra effort does yet and you get with de programs Perfectly Clear, FaceFilter Studio 3 and Ultimate Creative Collection nice supporting programs that can so again some more out of the picture.

FIRST STEPS:

If the program is once placed on your computer, you can start already. Who wants who registers even at Corel, for more updates, etc.. If you've never worked with Corel, who gets (unfortunately only) via download a detailed manual, and there is training videos, which are only offered in English.
The startup process takes a little while (about 30 sec.) And after that you are already in the program.

Here I have to say that the incorporation has cost me quite a while. Although I am familiar with Photoshop and other complex programs, the orientation in Paint Shop was not given to me immediately and I had to look every now and then more accurately, behind which hides the function icons.
So I would advise everyone, not strikes to work going on, but to sit down in peace and to get to know the program.

THE PROGRAM AT A GLANCE:

The program itself is divided into three major areas:

*** Managing ***
Here you get an overview of your Fotosamlungen or on the images to be imported to be processed later. Who Lightroom knows, for this is unlikely to be new organizing principle.

*** Adjustments ***
This area offers a number of adjustments, anyway it goes to the actual machining. So regulating the white balance may not be missing. Images can be sharpened or noise removed. Is adjusted by sliders. On the right side there are also some one-click actions that convert the image to black / white or autokorrigieren if during recording but even what went wrong.
Any changes that are made to the picture, are not permanent, you mean - the original image is preserved and can be restored at any time.

*** Edit ***
Here can now find the numerous editing tools to get the most out of the picture. From simple things like cutting, stamping and coloring, the program provides just about all the features that also offers Photoshop. The individual machining steps are thereby created in planes that are easy to move or delete, without having to redesign the entire image.

What else is there to say:

- Of course, Paint Shop Pro tackle all major raw formats
- Unfortunately, can be in the X6 version of useful little extra "Nik Efex Pro Corel 3 filter" no longer find. Anyone familiar with the Nik Software, who knows how good she is. Pity!
- Program is stable, complex processing steps often need but quite a bit of time in order to be applied on the picture can

CONCLUSION:
Corel PaintShop Pro X6 gives a very extensive program for relatively little money. Some training period provided great results can be achieved with it. The comprehensive manual helps to get around. If that's not enough, you can be tutorials, view albeit in English.
Overall decent performance with little reason to complain.
