positive:
+ Very simple user interface; in mode "M" can easily be adjusted in 128 steps performance
+ TTL mode works with the Sony RX1R, which is operated in the mode "M" very good; Preflashes required
+ High light output, no whistling while charging the capacitor; rapid recycling
+ Quickshift
+ Diffuser part of the supplied accessories
+ Waterproof
+ Video Light
+ Good Featured materials (Made in China)
negative:
- No PC Sync - connection -> can not be used with PocketWizard etc.; a compatible hot shoe with PC-Sync connection I have not found; the Internet exist craft instructions
- A Canon flash works in mode "M" with the Sony RX1R, but the Sony flash does not work in mode "M" on a Canon camera
- Relatively large and heavy
- Thyristor-based automatic flash function is lacking; No pre-flashes required; work outdoors.
- Wireless works on flashes of light instead of radio -> limited opportunities in sunshine / time delay
- Can not be triggered or controlled via the camera's internal flash
- Flash compensation in the camera's menu will be implemented, but not shown on the display of lightning.
- Relatively quick overheating when operated in TTL mode (because of numerous test flashes.)
Conclusion:
Good results in the hotshoe of the camera; Wireless a second wireless-compatible Sony flash is necessary. Inadequate compatibility wg. Hotshoe design and lack of PC sync port. Too bad, otherwise a good flash.
