Works for me without any problems with my Nexus 7 (2012). I boss the app "Nexus Media Importer", which is also highly recommended to buy. Without or a similar app as it gets. I can both USB sticks and Micro SD and SD as well as an external, separately-powered hard disk connect (reading and writing).
