At first I was concerned that the ingredients could affect the opacity of the color. Concerns unfounded! In some places I have dabbed infested areas, So applied undiluted and without color. The drying took ages .... but is not been intended to direct treatment. But has nevertheless worked great without including Painted color to change. The product therefore does not brightens.
