The purchase reason for me was that I have a higher accuracy than the internal GPS. Because I need for geocaching better accuracy.
A first test has shown that a lot more points are recorded in the track, and each line is round while the internal phone-GPS only once every 3 seconds to write a point. So this machine will scan many points (1,5,10 per Sec) and is therefore designed for higher speeds.
For accuracy, I have not specifically may find something. However, I have had both the internal and the external GPS are ahead in the car on the wipers on a street without trees. So maybe optimal to heaven. Both have the same recorded accurately.
I still need to test how the behave when the reception conditions are difficult.
I hope that the external device then plays out its advantages.
In the 1 Hz setting the device has scanned 5 points per second. Hmm ... actually, it should be one. Or did I ?? might inadvertently lead when tested on 5/10 Hz!
Currently, as a plus, therefore, only:
- Scans depending on the setting more points per second (good for racing !!)
- Turns a notebook Riesennavi on the Befahrersitz (but make other devices also)
I hope even at good reception in bad conditions otherwise it was for me probably an incorrect acquisition.
