I pre-ordered this product right after the IFA 2012 and this now already get from Amazon. Thanks for the quick and early deployment.
Since many are destined interested in these practical video surveillance via smartphone I write a small report and hope that it helps you further.
Installation: The installation is very easy. Just the power adapter plug into the socket and into a LAN port on the router. Done. Then simply plug the camera into the socket at the installation site. The camera can be placed anywhere where a power outlet is, the cable is long enough. Then you have the app from the Market Load (Android / iPhone), I used the Android app. Operation is intuitive and easy. Simply enter camera name (letter / number combination) and password. Then, the camera combines already and it seems the image :-). Later, you can change the camera name and password using the settings.
Image quality / camera: The picture quality is very good in my opinion for the size and price class. Man can see everything clearly and the resolution is "good." One should not expect miracles here, there is a surveillance camera and no HD 1080p camera. The built infared lamps you can also see well at night. With the video, I'm day and at night satisfied. The camera has once again laterally and below devices for locking on a wall. Another camera in the network cost about 99 euros. Since you pay for in my opinion, of course, with the idea. The camera can make the way at night very quickly locate due to the red lights forming Infarotlampen. So spying for "secretly" in the dark, the camera is rather not suitable.
Settings in the app: man can take pictures from the camera and save them on your phone and send it via mail, Rotate the image in all directions, set infared on / off / auto. The video resolution may change to, the status LED can be deactivated by software also.
Connection: Both Wi-Fi and 3G / UMTS you get a very useful video. About WLAN a tick more stable than on 3G. Am absolutely satisfied and the monitoring solution is definitely on the road usable.
Power consumption: Surprisingly low - I have measured with a simple ammeter. Adapters and camera together under 5 watts. The camera showed only 2.2 watts. I hope the values do that. Thus, the operating costs are made low.
[Update 12.11.2012] Stability: The connection has now been tested over the weekend from a foreign wireless network. There was no single link failure and it was not reset the camera wg. "Suspension" necessary. Whenever I wanted access to the camera I got to see immediately a flawless video. For non-moving images is seen in the light "noise" that you have a live image. Leads into a connecting hole (eg WLAN), you immediately recognize that this slight image noise is a still image. Such hangers are however only occur if a problem with the external connection existed. At forehand is no connection there were no problems. The stability of the system is thus very good.
Negatives: There is only one thing I would mention here so far: The adapter for Wlanbox emits high-frequency part sounds you only hear when you are near the adapter. Because of the high frequency noise I asked a support request at Devolo [Update 07.01.2013: replacement device has minimized noise audible only up to 30cm away from the adapter]. Unfortunately, there is no motion of automatically taking pictures in motion.
Conclusion: For all techies, interested and those who want to throw items, a "view from the road" home if everything is ok, I can do that product. Also for pet monitoring the camera eigenet ideal - Who does not always wanted to know something the cat home so driving alone?
I answer questions like.
