This charger is recognized by my DELL XPS 13 as if it were the original charger and thus does not block the loading of the battery. Instead, shippers said "universal" are identified by the computer as non-original material that blocks the battery charging after 1 to 2 weeks of use. Very good buy at competitive prices. Highly recommend, only downside: a bit larger than the original Dell charger.
