So far I did not see any benefit in additional microphone input of the FZ150, because I fully sufficient built-in microphone. However, as a remote shutter release uses the microphone input for data transmission, I am glad to have decided for a camera with a microphone input. First, my choice fell on the JJC Wireless Remote Trigger Panasonic is to have already for about 35 EUR and shines with very good reviews on Amazon. But then I discovered the Hahnel Combi TF wireless remote release for Panasonic DSLR cameras and flash units for about 56 EUR. The difference with the JJC remote release is the ability to control an external flash. Thus, it is eg possible to set up an external flash in space and trigger by the transmitter attached to the hot shoe of the camera, which often is used in so-called "unleashed flashes". Even though I still have no external flash, it was worth the extra cost, to be equipped for the future.
The remote control works with a button cell type CR 2032, which was already inserted. The enclosed 2 AAA batteries belong to the recipient. In addition to a concise, illustrated manual one cable is to connect the receiver to the microphone input of the camera at.
The installation is quite simple: The receiver is plugged into the camera's hot shoe and locked using the knurled screw. After connecting the receiver and camera with the 2.5mm jack cable you initially switched the receiver to "I".
At the hand-held transmitter is a switch to select the Drive Mode. There is a mode for normal shooting, bulb exposure and continuous shooting, and a mode for delayed by 4 seconds of recording. The shutter button corresponding to the shutter button on the camera and can therefore only be pressed halfway to focus also. The motion picture recording is also possible to only have to do this, the dial on the FZ150 in the position to bring the manual video mode, as the pressure on the red button so that video can not be controlled. The hand-held transmitter, unlike the receiver unfortunately no off us so it may happen that inadvertently pressed when transporting the trigger. Therefore it is prudent to remove the button battery when not in use. But I would also deduct no star.
The receiver has a hot shoe, so that it can be mounted away from the camera instead of the camera on a tripod with an external flash. In this case the transmitter is pushed to the hot shoe of the camera and through the existing contacts, it sends when shutter is released, a signal to the receiver, which then triggers the external flash. For this enough a simple flash without TTL because the Hahnel Combi TF does not support TTL.
IMPORTANT: At the back is in the small print of the package that the Hahnel Combi TF is NOT compatible with flashes of the brand NISSIN.!
This is to be observed in so far as it Nissin Di466 are with the good TTL flash for FZ150, which can not be used for off-camera flash with this receiver.
I am very pleased with the remote release and the price-performance ratio is very good for the included features.
