The presenter comes in one of those terrible blister packaging. But that is the only drawback.
In addition to the device itself, the brief instructions and a Pappfaltblatt for the appearance of the package is. A (AAA) battery is not included.
At the bottom of the presenter of the USB receiver is inserted, which ensures the connection between the PC and Presenter.
It sits firmly in place, can be but still very easy to remove.
Visually, the presenter is very nice to look at and at the same time, despite the suitable even for larger hands dimensions, unobtrusive.
On the left there is the on / off switch.
Right is a rocker switch that is labeled at the top with "Tab" at the bottom with "Enter". By pressing "Tab" can be between hyperlinks in a document page switch back and forth, pressing "Enter" the selected link opens. At least that's the theory effect, Linux Mint 17 does not work, but this is irrelevant to me. If you hold "Tab" key you can switch between open programs. This can be conveniently switch between two different presentation, without having to run the laptop for example. "Enter" has the effect that the presentation is concluded with a long press. The latter two functions run under Linux again easily.
The three main buttons on top of the Presenter are intended to switch the films or to activate the laser pointer. The symbol of the middle button of the laser pointer that shines beautifully light is clearly evident, creating a blind navigation on the keys is possible. In addition to the standard functions "next slide" (below) or "previous slide" (above) also offer these buttons again additional options when held down. With "previous slide", the Presentation Mode to enter or leave. Means "next slide" can disable the screen to, for example, take a break.
If you put the USB receiver into the laptop is no other device on Linux Mint 17 necessary, the Presenter is ready to use. On Windows I have not tested it, but the operation is guaranteed by the manufacturer there.
In a test presentation at home the keys responded excellently and without a delay. If you press only a very faint clicking sound is heard, that certainly does not really stand at a "real" presentation.
Conclusion:
The presenter makes an excellent first impression. He feels wertig, fits comfortably in your hand and do quite simply what he should.
Experiences for everyday use will follow soon.
