Unlike shown in some reviews, the unit also works with a T-Online connection. For me, the D-Link depends on a wireless router from TP-Link (without DSL modem) and provides the connection for PC, Laptops, mobile phones and tablet to the Internet. For this purpose, I first connected it directly wired to my PC and started in the browser http://192.168.1.1 the configuration menu. Then as proposed through the wizard in the ADSL Setup and set in Step2 at Country "Germany" and ISP provider T-Online. The other settings I have left unchanged. After that I changed the bridge mode to PPPoE / PPPoA on ADSL setup and then could Username and Password for T-Online entered. At this point, make sure that the User Name at T-Online has the following format: [Email protected] . where A is the 12-digit user account (possibly with leading zeros), T-12-digit T-Online-Nr. and M is the 4-digit co-user number (usually 0001). So there are 28 characters entered without spaces before the @. The numbers are provided by T-Online in the order confirmation. Some routers, A, T and M but not be entered in separate fields, with this device. With these settings, I am then come immediately from the PC to the Internet. (All four lights on the D-Link must be green.) As my wireless router have the same IP address used, including this device, I have the "Router IP Address" changed even in the LAN setup on 192.168.1.2, so I can access in future also via WLAN to the configuration interface of this device. Then I have the network cable is disconnected from my computer and instead the D-Link is connected to the wireless router. There were problems then with fixed IP addresses that I had stored for two computers on the wireless router. After I had this set to dynamic assignment, all devices will now be recognized by the D-Link and get on the internet. Conclusion: Although a comprehensive configuration options confuse something I needed luckily do something about the preferences barely. The device works to date (1 day) properly and the speed is compared with the previous DSL modem (Fritz box in a) unchanged. The only real downside (hence only 4 stars) are a bit short (about 1 meter) geratenen cable to the splitter, the wireless router and to the power grid, which led yesterday evening to an extensive drilling and Umräumaktion ... ;-)
