The Adventures of 2 Girls in Summer break in Mexico. Hesitating between western youth overflows in a foreign country, and cultural and fascinating tours of ancient sites, they are not after their surprises. We talked a lot the last few months of this American author ... If opinion is divided, I pledge that this novel could get everyone to agree. Indeed, it seems to me that this novel synthesizes the first time of this author, after three novels, each of which targeted the lives of young American adults (especially girls), just before going into adulthood . Laura Kasischke excels in the evocation of this period of life between adolescence and adulthood, the age when everything is possible, when still so influenced by our family figures, while wanting to detach, age yet unbreakable friendships, the age in which love is a dream course without me: give altogether? to whom? to the right person? From festive celebrations, sharing their joys, their surprise and hesitations, our 2 young girls, away from their families, will cross over a few days, all kinds of people, without always get to set their judgment on what happens to them. Thus, danger lurks and anxiety creeps in us, without really knowing why. A seemingly simple style, but surely eminently subtle, which commands admiration. A book that left me speechless, and I recommend to all.
