The ones of you who know DLNA, might also knowthat it is quite easy to stream video from a NAS (connected to the router, DLNA certified of course) to a DLNA device (TV, or the dongle I just bought). You can even do that with your smartphone.
And here is where it is getting ugly: To operate the dongle, you need very specific software, Which is of course not available for Linux. Installing it on Android works so far, but the software does not offer the option to stream media from a NAS to the dongle. The only thing you can do is use the media on phone, Which is quite useless, since I do not tend to have many movies on my phone.
On top of that, it does not even play all the media on the phone, even after a firmware upgrade.
There are some how-to's and "special tricks", But They simply do not work.
Cheap, buggy, Restricted, useless.
Worst product ever! I wonder how a company can have the audacity to sell search crappy hardware ...
