I since 2 days possess the a7 II now. It is larger and heavier than the A7 / r, but I did not feel as a disadvantage. The A7 II is now better in the hand and has become more ergonomic, also because the trigger now sits at a better place. The image quality is sufficient is not expected to quite reach the A7R zoom, this is the video quality with the XAVCS codec on (almost) professional level, what was for me the main reason to buy. The XAVCS format requires a top high-speed 64GB SD card, without such a card is only AVCHD possible. The AF is significantly faster than that of an A7 / r. But the speed is not comparable to a A6000. Still shooting fast-moving (Sport, Children, Pets) should now be better if still not be perfectly possible. Along with the new storage of the sensor succeed even with longer exposure times now more useful or very good pictures. The trigger is also significantly quieter than that of the A7R. From my perspective, the a7 II a meaningful and worthwhile Up-Date, esp. For filmmakers is. Owners of A7S which has already XAVCS, a transition is likely to be less useful.
Up-Date: Something I had forgotten to mention the connection to the lens body is now without play and instead fix properly, as it should be.
Up-Date 2: I had the camera during the Christmas holidays while skiing there. The ambient temperature was partly at -15 degrees. The camera worked well under these conditions perfectly and together with the SEL 70-200 4.0 lens are super pictures of (fast) skiers at a shutter speed of 1/1250 emerged. The AF is still fast enough for most applications, unlike the AF of A7R. Another note for RAW processing, with the Lightroom version 5.7.1 is the development of a problem.
