XTC "Skylarking"

Tributes to "Sgt. Peppers ..." from the Beatles have been several, one year before "Skylarking" In 1985 already tried and failed Prince with his work "Around the world in a day", because it simply too much his own ideas followed and really just a "Prurple rain" into being brought successor.
Quite different is the three men of XTC !!!
Chef Andy Patridge, Colin Moulding and Dave Gregory have accomplished with "Skylarking" an unforgettable masterpiece of British pop music, so that one thinks, so would the Beatles, it would in 1986 have given, must sound.
From the criticism and the press was "Skylarking" highly commended in the sky and called XTC as the Fab Four of the 80. Unfortunately, the problem is that the real musical gems such as lead on the shelves of record stores not only today 2003 but it was in 1986 and not much different. "Skylarking" a highly acclaimed and less than successful masterpiece that same timeless sounds like anno 1986. Today was Only the single "Grass" made it into the British Top 10 (Thank you today some radio DJ's of "Bayern 3" that the played song often and have always raved about XTC).
Unfortunately XTC are forgotten today summarizes and wrongly that since the band in England in the late 70s to mid-80s were among the very large to the British pop scene. In Germany, unfortunately the band could never really gain a foothold and never got beyond the Underground status.
If you like good British pop music, this disc should not be missed under any circumstances, because it shows the whole spectrum of a band that has become a cult on the island.
