After delivery (performed quickly and with tracking number!) I was but then very pleasantly surprised: was delivered in principle a Philips Massive 55652/31/10!
This usually comes with 2x 10W ESL actually spots (Philips product number 83972200), a somewhat dubious choice from the pre-LED time that no longer would be timely today. Here at the "KHL" edition, however, true LED spots are and on the package, the instructions are the lamp was originally designed for these strange times GU10 Compact Fluorescent Spots pasted over.
Positives:
- Tilt and twist mechanism is well built, easy to adjust and is likely (probably / hopefully) last. If not: you could help out with a few drops of superglue if that is sometime worn and you want to set it permanently while the lamp is on.
- Lamp is processed properly and beautifully white. Surface is slightly rough (not gloss lacquer). With gefällts. Unobtrusive but quite a bit dibasic. Little plastic.
- Height of the "foot" in which the terminals are housed: Only 2cm and therefore unremarkable.
- Installation easy, 2 holes in the ceiling are required.
Negatives:
- Is the "tube" in which the spots are installed due to the fact that the lamp was actually built for the old compact ESL spots quite long, longer than probably almost all GU10 LEDs. This has the advantage that you do not see the spot, but also the disadvantage that only the light can be used which is radiated pretty straight forward! This results in the following problem:
==> The GU10 LEDs used should therefore either be quite long (65-68mm would be optimal to complete accurately)
==> This is today but rather uncommon, the trend is toward more compact LED spots that are not much larger than the old halogen spots
==> ... If you are short, you should have a narrow emission angle (25 ° - 40 ° max would be advisable) without having an unnecessary light is emitted only at the sides of the tube, thereby then partially lost!
- The supplied GU10 LEDs are not really suitable, unfortunately in this regard. This is the model V-TAC VT-1859 Light color 3000K, 110 ° viewing angle and 200 lumens and a spot length of 50mm.
==> The short length of the LED spots, the large viewing angle and the already rather low number of lumens is the result not so insanely much light on. The light color of the V-TAC spots is ok and probably corresponds to roughly the specified 3000K and is not uncomfortable - I would still not recommend to use them. They are weak, have an incorrect angle and usually anyway usually more of a warm white 2700K but is instead delivered the desired 3000K, at least in the cozy living areas for construction.
Conclusion: Cheap way to get to a good-looking Philips Massive 55652/31/10 who gets along well which are then specially purchases more with a brand manufacturer with directional LED spots. Not suitable if you want to use LED spots with wide viewing angle (90 °) to get a less directional light.
