The softbox is supplied with an additional internal diffuser, which is not included in the product description and probably not always so, if you can believe the reviews at Amazon US. He is clamped with checkmark in loops inside the softbox. Another deviation from the product description is that the holder has been delivered with a ball head instead of a tilt joint, possibly a Lot-dependent matter. The massive design of the ball head is (with a bit of WD40) a pleasant working environment possible.
A disadvantage of the construction is the mounting of the locking screw of the ring holder. This prevents the flash can also be pushed without remote release to the foremost possible position of the rail. Quasi impossible the use of the much used Yongnuo RF602 / 3 in the correct position, because then the flash head is not enough in the softbox. The only solution: the flash is folded back and attached to the display showing the softbox. This then shows off even the remote release of the softbox and the positioning of the flash is neat. Disadvantage: the use of the flash is more difficult because the display is not good to see. In manual off-camera flash, especially with very high positioning of the soft box, but you will anyway not so much on the flash around, so that's bearable. A setting of 90 degrees is not possible because then the flash head is not the center of the ring.
When shooting you get essentially what you would expect at these models: a slightly larger light source and a little diffusion. Through the inner diffuser more than was to be expected. An additional Stofen (yoghurt pots) improves the outcome and again.
Conclusion: for the low price you get a more than decent performance, especially if you're looking for a soft box on the go.. But we must also not expect any miracles.
