The first impression is what you'd expect: cheap plastic with a strong odor and thin sheet on the ring flash holder. BUT: the rest of the flash bracket is made legally solid metal, overall quite stable and can be operated very well. Likewise, the clamping frame of the softbox and the locking screws with the usual plastic heads. Only the Bltzschuh and the rail of the ring budget are not quite as smoothly displaced by the very sharp edges of the profiles. Here creates WD40 remedy. The mounting of the softbox on the ring is done alone by clamping the ring in the back of the clamping frame. The positioning is thus not exactly add get what you but with this type softbox also can not be expected. The pack size is decent, the softbox can be folded well, and it fits with all the parts in a backpack.

The softbox is supplied with an additional internal diffuser, which is not included in the product description and probably not always so, if you can believe the reviews at Amazon US. A disadvantage of the construction is the mounting of the locking screw of the ring holder. When shooting you get essentially what you would expect at these models: a slightly larger light source and a little diffusion. Through the inner diffuser more than was to be expected. An additional Stofen (yoghurt pots) improves the outcome and again.

Conclusion: for the low price you get a more than decent performance, especially if you're looking for a soft box on the go.. But we must also not expect any miracles.
