have the players yesterday afternoon shot here and this afternoon he was already with me on the table. So much for speed of delivery, but that one is accustomed to Amazon :-)
First, I have to charge the Zen connected to the PC and besides draufkopiert my mp3 collection. As the Zen is finally recognized as a normal drive, you have it from your PC under control; the inserted micro SD card even get their own drive letter.
Negative I noticed is that the write rate of 4-6 MB / sec. is anything but fast. Can also be due to my Vista box * cough *.
After disconnecting the player he reorganized itself, which after extensive prior copying actions may take a little.
So now but the player himself.
The Touch is working properly, contrary to certain opinions, in my view; For me, however, the current firmware was uploaded.
Anyone who thinks that the touch do not respond properly, can it - calibrate best with a stylus for a higher Trefferquote-.
When switching from the Zen I come right away with the X-Fi2 clear: the menu navigation is intuitive and is quickly vonstatten.
About the X-Fi effects were told a lot here; I agree with the positive judgments on it. Schön is the possibility of MP3 menu on the comparison of the effects and to be able to switch off.
I have looked at many reviews in advance and will clean up the following with a few statements or errors:
- Through large music collections you navigate (like with the Zen) by calling the AZ index: then an alphabetical vertical bar will appear, where you can quickly scroll to the first letter.
- Someone wrote that it takes 11 clicks to change the volume. I can not confirm: you need more than 3 to get the volume control on the screen.
- The limitation to 8000 songs (when 32GByte- model) I think is a rumor; Although the Creative- HP speaks of 8000 MP3 files with a length of 4 MB each. But that's just one example; it can of course also be stored 16000 with 2 MB size. Or 32000 with 1 MB.
- The handling of the SD card has improved considerably compared to the Zen. While you can still "Import All", but is not forced to do so because the stored there mp3s can be played also sorted by albums, artists and genres.
A little tip on the edge: I have my audio books on the SD_ card, then they do not kolldieren with my songs in the Flash and the shortcoming of lack of "File view" on things can get over better.
- The RSS feed reader is a good thing: you can even hear the way music while reading. The RSS- synchronizer is on the player in the root directory and can also just start there.
A few points struck me until now, but I want sorting under the category "jewelery at nightgown":
- Depending on the level of the memory of the start of Zen takes different lengths of time. I have about 22 GB of mp3 and images and the start takes a good minute.
Remedy: Do not turn off player, but lock; the screen then go out also.
- If one selects a category (Music, Photos, Video) on the memory card, an index is created every time; but that only takes a few seconds.
- The radio can still not an RDS; the channels found can also be manually be-namst. And that can be manually adjusted, the frequency now, which is not yet received by the Zen.
The menu Contacts, Tasks and Calendar are superfluous, in my view, then what good is it if you can indeed view appointments to this but in last-minute changes can not edit.
Under "Application" is a Sudoku game, very nice gimmick, but also unnecessary. However, it is after all, that you can develop your own applications for the Zen; on [...] there is more information to do so.
All in all: strong buy recommendation; for the price anyway.
