Alexis Zorba is primarily a book of philosophy. It is the meeting of an absolutely living (Zorba) with a "literary" (the narrator). The novel begins when the uncertain reflections of a cerebral meet a man who plays the Bouzouki. This duo will leave for a solar journey illuminated by the cynicism of Zorba. He lives like a dog and layer in all the niches that are sweet. His Greek genes are exemplary. Like Diogenes, he could have said to Alexander: Get Out of My sun.
Finally, I would not say better than previous reviews: With goat cheese, his passion for women and his bouzouki, Zorba is a must that will pull you out of the rut in your favorite blues. And long after closing the book, we hear even whisper: women are made to be desired and loved.
