Before his American period (and RCA recordings), Jean Martinon realized recordings for Decca (see box published in 2006), but also for Philips: Philips these are recordings that are grouped here, remastered from the original tapes, and available for the first time on CD (except for "Nights € ...")! Of recordings made in Paris between 1953 and 1956 (in mono obviously), with Orchestre des Concerts Lamoureux here perfectly justifies its reputation for excellence. A discography bargain!
With a French directory of course, obviously up to the reputation of this iconic baguette. But above all the opportunity to find Martinon usually in less accessible pages, which we particularly emphasize these three symphonies of Mozart, recorded in 1956 for the bicentenary of the composer, in which Martinon literally shows disarming of vital energy and light expressive finesse : real little goldsmith of jewelry! We also appreciate those few Prokofiev, an equally representative composer of French leader than was Debussy or Ravel. Finally, we still emphasize this fevered version of the Nights in the Gardens of Spain, Manuel de Falla, captured in 1955 with the keypad very rarely recorded Eduardo del Pueyo, well known in Belgium, where he lived most of his life and where he trained many pianists (shame indeed that Love Witch is not entitled by a soloist of this ilk!).
