Another important milestone in the El-P + Killer Mike Discography

After the super albums "Rap Music" from Killer Mike and "Cancer 4 Cure" by El-P in 2012 and the first run the Jewels project in 2013 put us the guys from New York and Atlanta, a first "real" collabo album before. Now me, many ask, "Why was Run The Jewels 1 not 'right'?" Well, you had the feeling, Killer Mike and El-P then had a couple of beats and rape left and put together a (admittedly really good) plate therefrom. This time, so with "Run the Jewels 2", however, you have the feeling that it's a properly designed group album that beats specially programmed and written rapeseed together (so both in fact in a room). The result is a high quality product that you will find on many Top5 2014 lists. But why? Here the attempt at an explanation:

1. No Pop Schmonzetten. There tough beats and rape on the nose. A treat for true Hip Hop fans of the old days.
2. No cheap baby Crazy Maybe rhymes. Good wordplay. Good content. Killer Mike brutally direct, El-P rather complex subtle. Good combination.
3. The great chemistry between the two gives the listener a real "rap duo" feeling as before at Mobb Deep, EPMD or Pete Rock & CL Smooth
4. There is always a sympathetic political stance (not with "love again", but otherwise already) that is somewhat reminiscent of the Ice Cube in the early 90s.
5. The Beats by El-P are musically very innovative, a bit industrial-alternative, a bit NYig, at the same time some Southern-influenced - that one must first hinbekommen so.

All in all: Great and certainly one of the best albums in 2014 where generally many duos have delivered good (Skyzoo & Torae, Alchemist & Evidence Yu & Slimkat, Madlib & Freddie Gibbs, etc.)
