1976 was when the LP summer evening of Novalis appeared and I bought. It was produced by Achim Reichel. Many years later, I even bought myself the CD. Summer evening is certainly not a milestone in rock history, but it is a musical document German rock history from the seventies. Detlef Job and his colleagues convince not by instrumental virtuality, but they know how to create an empathetic atmosphere which suits me very. Even the singing of Detlef job is not to be classed as extremely interesting. The 18:17 minutes long song summer evening is nevertheless a small milestone of "Krautrock" maybe "progressive rock" music. Comparisons with Pink Floyd, as I have read in another review, I can understand, but Pink Floyd had yet more to offer my judge it after and were considered over their entire work away but much more innovative than Novalis. For me Novalis with summer evening a similar status as Eloy, Jane, Michael Rother and Ramses.
