I clean since the beginning of digital photography my sensors themselves. Initially with quite adventurous means, I quickly paid enough dues to soon after and still working by brush, wet and film cleaning with high-quality tools.
Always at hand: an air blower or bellows.
Meanwhile I use for all the cameras D-SLR BrushTM.
When I'm at it, once every few months to clean a sensor, then I take right before all cameras that I use regularly. Without tedious to examine whether at all in a camera a speck of dust can be seen in panel 22 or not. I look at the sensor and when I see a particles or erahne, then just go off. Manual cleaning cost me a few minutes and do not worry quite as sensitive as often preached the sensor is not. I am in any case, no sensor has been damaged by touching with brushes, swaps or similar.
My workflow:
(Please always make sure that the bristles of the brush does not come into contact with skin If it happened:.. Not bad A statement for cleaning the brush is)
- If any: let even run the internal sensor cleaning
Remove housing cover / Lens -
Keep camera with open bayonet over his head and blow out thoroughly with the bellows -
- Fold up mirror
- Again blow out thoroughly
- See lamp with magnifying glass and, if there are tiny hairs in the housing
- If necessary: with tweezers (tweezers can NOT touch the sensors For this he is then again too sensitive!)
- Blow out again
Get brush from the tube and blow through with the bellows hair (the brush) -
- Place the camera on the table and with a brush according to (foolproof) Cleaning Instructions (. The sensor can withstand the contact without any problems If there are still particles are on the sensor, you can easily more about it underline)
Blow blower brush from short and carefully put back into the tube -
Auspusten cover / lens on bayonet with Bellows -
- Screw
- Mirrors fold down / off camera
- Done.
It works fine!
Should there still time to get stubborn dirt, I reach for wet cleaning.
This happens on average once every two years at a camera.
I hope it goes without saying that you should not perform in the coal cellar, the sensor cleaning necessarily.
Conclusion:
Of course - there are cheaper solutions. I try but no longer from experience. Just as I do not want to take the risk to annoy me with batteries from other manufacturers rum. The brush is stable, the hairs do not dissolve, the result is properly should not yet a sensational invention conquer the market in the future (mirrorless cameras have me not reached), this will be my long-term sensor cleaning tool in combination with the above-mentioned other means ,
Five star - strong buy recommendation!
