The built-in flash can be switched on or off only via the menu. I personally prefer the manual release. Also ISO values (80-800), white balance, exposure compensation via the menu controllable. It makes the camera quickly become familiar, because the menu navigation is clearly designed and not overloaded with features and gadgets.
The Smart Auto detects a lot of different shooting situations and makes almost no mistakes. They supported in this by the automatic facial recognition by the adjustable focus with priority on child and adult portraits. Also it allows settings for Smile Sensitivity, Advanced Scene Detection, exposure compensation and the adjustment of the single and continuous shooting.
In addition, the iAutomatik is very fast and almost every image is both sharp and correctly exposed. The automatic mode is definitely the easiest and safest way to quickly take a photo. The quality of the images is detailed in daylight and high-contrast. The colors are rich and natural. Only in the twilight or night scene pushes the Smart Auto to their limit. Since taking the noise to stronger and thus many a picture is unusable. The answer is a reduction of megapixels. There are settings for 2, 5, VGA (for e-mail attachment), 10, 12 and 16 MP. I miss the attitude of 8MP.
And very good for sharp images without flash in low light, I find in Scene Mode dial-App with high ISO sensitivity.
Much of the functions are controlled by the Smart Auto and Macro option. However, the image quality is not always convincing.
Amateur photographers who do not want to do without a manual adjustment of aperture and shutter speed and opt for this ever-while-camera, will welcome the features here. However, the function for each focal length offers only large and small aperture.
The Program AE and panoramic shooting mode are also on board. The transitions from panoramic images are blurred, the quality is also convincing here. Likewise, I take the continuous shooting mode very often claim. This is very handy for fast-moving subjects such as children or animals or sport activities.
Under securities position is found settings of a few color variations of black, but Sephia missing.
Since I mostly take pictures with the camera, plays the video feature for me only a minor role. With this camera, I'm pleasantly surprised about the quality of video recordings. There is no blurring, no camera shake, even when fully extended zoom. The autofocus and image stabilizer doing a great job here. For even more freedom of movement while filming the Optical Active Mode option ensures (SteadyShot).
A slight zooming during recording can be heard, but acceptable. The video recording, viewed on the display is clear. This is the first camera that convinced me when Videoreh to 100%.
For snapshots this camera is ideal. The strength of the Sony Cyber-shot DSC H90B clearly lies with their speed. Autofocus is fast, reliable and accurate. The focus is so quick that a picture can be shot within a few seconds. In flash it takes a bit longer.
The battery capacity is enough for about 180 pictures. By Eco Mode option some energy is saved, thereby improving battery performance.
Conclusion: On the whole, a pretty good camera. I can criticize only the macro option that I would rather control over menu navigation. Furthermore, you can not make quiet or loud the sound of the camera. There is only one off or on. Otherwise, I'm quite happy with the camera.
From me 4.5 stars and a clear recommendation!
