At first the two had another adapter be "married", ie, they had a code with each exchange to arrange a tap-proof encryption. For this I put them into adjacent sockets, expressed only at one, then at the other other adapter the key on the side-down on the housing, and after a few seconds shone with both adapters the LEDs white, as a sign that a connection existed. Now I could transplant them IN to their final jobs. No. 1 came into an electrical outlet in the boiler room, next to the Internet router with which it has been connected using the supplied Ethernet cable. . No. 2 was plugged into a socket in the office and connected via Ethernet cable to the Time Capsule - and you're done. Fast Ethernet can not build, and it is very stable and sufficiently fast, though not beiweitem with 550 Mbit / s. But significantly faster way, as the two older 500s dLAN adapter, which I previously used on the same site. And when even carried an automatic update of the firmware on the Cockpit software, the transfer rates improved by a further ten percent. I find that impressive.
Unfortunately my good experiences that I made with Devolo powerline adapters, not confirmed by the dLAN WiFi adapters from the same manufacturer. In which ever occurred annoying disconnections, especially with smartphones. That was even the reason why I took up the AirPort Time Capsule from Apple. The covers thanks to its outstanding performance, the dead spots in my house a large extent on. Just in the basement and in the garden I have to use yet dLAN WiFi adapter. Through trial and error, I found out the way that the disconnections omitted apparent when each WiFi adapter sends its own SSID, so to speak, its own WLAN operates. This is a bit awkward because you now may have to switch at its terminals by hand on each other's WiFi if you / moves garden in the house. But it's better than the disconnections all.
Anyway, to my excellent rating of "pure" Powerline adapters change the WiFi weaknesses nothing.
