It is generally very difficult to form an opinion about different Billigkompanden available in the network, usually due to lack of detailed pictures and descriptions arrogant. Therefore, I would like to take this opportunity to briefly report after receiving here on this compass and set some photos.
My ways to determine the north are limited to approximate comparisons with cards of my home, thus showing the compass but in the general direction. The north arrow is level in the housing to dial, does not end up at its southern end, however, on the exact opposite side, but I can not tell if it is because of the scale or the arrow.
The compass is manufactured in China and is clearly a cheap product. Processing quality and accuracy thus correspond to the price that I have illustrated extensively and in detail for all those interested.
Most people who want to look for a compass here and certainly need no compass for life and not the degree is on exactly. This Kompanden also cost at least 20 times. Those looking for here, would probably rather a cheap entry into the Compass Navigation and occasional use, or simply as a safety backpack.
And that is why this compass is suitable.
I would like to conclude with a pro-cons list:
+ Low price (currently 9)
+ Sufficient function
+ Sufficient stability (after optical impression)
+ Usual form of construction, therefore more easily switch to another device without relearning
+ German manual with explanation of basic compass navigation
+ Metal housing, clear durability advantage over plastic models of competitors
- Rotating ring made of plastic
- Moldings Inaccurate made (material defects and production tracks)
- Imprecise processing (see North Arrow, Drehringrastung also does not correspond exactly to the degree numbers match)
- Foreseeable vulnerabilities for extended use (eg hinge brass tube)
- Inadequate night function of the fluorescent elements
- No explanation of the function of Peillupe in the user manual
- Questionable outdoor qualities due to not scratch-resistant glasses and insufficiently thought-out design (wire visor is on when the compass is collapsed ready for transport)
Especially the last two points I find pity, because the manufacturer could fix them easily and they have increased (for beginners) tremendously the quality of the product. I was primarily low sensitivity important, but the mounting of the sighting wire is questionable and this is after folding to a reinforcing strut of Peillupe on. Had recessed at this point, the medium strut, the problem would be solved. I will therefore in any case always deal cautiously with the folded compass.
I hope that the points mentioned and uploaded pictures will help in decision making, so that every buyer knows exactly what he is getting into. Anyone who has read carefully, is also likely to come to the conclusion to classify the product as recommended, however, deduct a star due to the unnecessary shortcomings.
