That some of these live show "average" (or even worse ...) certify, but never let go of doing any unglimpflichen insults or hate speech against Ian Anderson, speaking for the new Jethro Tull and the respectful treatment of the musical oeuvre Ian Anderson and JT. However, the execution of this current concert still does not seem to please any fan.
That I do not consider this current live concert on average, but for very good reason is that I the big old and die-hard fan of JT was really never, but for several years the legendary musical detail love and playfulness of the new tape to Ian Anderson very appreciate. Concerts recent tie me, and you like to listen to. I have formulated elsewhere ever so similar.
Part 1 of this concert - DVD provides actually the complete "Thick As A Brick" - album from 1972 in almost original quality. From a couple of unnecessary deposits and gadgets apart. Such passages that do not match the original, are disruptive for the occasional expert and perhaps misplaced. Therefore, and also in view of the extremely clean interpreted music but devalue this concert, in my opinion, is not proportionate.
I know (almost) any place of "Thick As A Brick" because I've heard this milestone of prog rock felt determined since I was 15 years already 1000 times. To date, without any signs of wear. That's why I was on the current Live - implementation, hereby present Ian Anderson and musician, very excited ...
Even more true of the part 2 to! The Original - Studio - CD was in the summer of 2012 my absolute musical highlight, I had to almost any occasion, preferably as "Summer Feierabend drug" reinziehen me. This live show met this effect equally, so I only can state: compliment!
Although like every man Ian Anderson aging can not escape, he does his job quite well. He reaches clear to his vocal limits, but a vocal genius he was never ... He always had this typical sonorous narrator. For a young man like Ryan O'Donnell called from difficult vocal parts. While this is not typical of Jethro Tull, but certainly does the job. First, he will sing the role of separately Gerald Bostock, and secondly, his voice almost in the same tone as earlier maybe Ian Anderson had.
Anyway, all the songs are from "Thick As A Brick Part 1 and 2" appropriately implemented and interpreted amazingly close to the original. Both vocally and musically. I highly recommend this DVD if you want to enjoy a wonderfully relaxed time evening.
But you should have a little knowledge of JT. And: The concert on DVD makes more fun and acts in this case not so good on CD ... The musical review my review however, applies to both phonograms ...
"Hard times for a Tullisten the first hour ...": Otherwise, I can only, for the very old fans to access a quote here in another review
Musically yet no less good ...!
