However a few days of use were quick to dispel doubts.
Indeed, this mouse offers a comfortable grip - not too heavy nor too light, and I confess even have enjoyed a coating less "grainy" softer, more pleasant.
The wheel of the G400 is not décrantable and does not allow quick scrolling web pages.
That said, over the years, the notches of the G500 tended to wear out and become less and less pronounced ... where an inaccuracy in the selection of weapons in FPS.
A problem that should not encounter the wheel of the G400s, with its well pronounced notches.
Some may regret the absence of a horizontal scrolling, but personally it was something that I did not use the G500 ....
The presence of only two buttons on the side is not a defect.
After all, the 3 buttons on the G500 were too tightened and the one below was not very accessible.
Regarding the optical sensor (which appreciate a good mouse pad), it seems to bear comparison with that of the G500.
Anyway, I did not feel a "regression" in the use of FPS games.
In fact, only the position of the buttons to adjust the sensitivity ... and the absence of an indicator for that setting have embarrassed me.
The presence of a USB cable end and not braided as the G500 also left me a bad impression. It will be there as strong? Only time will tell.
Note also the integration of the driver in the software "Wizard to video games" - already used for keyboards of "previous generation" like the G510.
Short.
If the specifications table suggests that the G400S is a superfluous model compared to the G500 series, ... I would say that appearances are deceiving.
Its performance "in game" and reliability of its wheel in its favor and even make an interesting alternative to the G500 series, especially for FPS fans.
