The devices used are:
PS3 with an optical digital audio output
on
Receiver Denon AV-1803 with 2 free optical audio inputs.
Because of the failure of my CD playback device the PS3 next DVDs / Blu-Ray (film sound) should henceforth also play CDs (music).
Because in my experience the music playback via "Dolby Surround ProLogic II" sub-optimal (in the music and movie mode) and the best result via "Direct" setting is achieved (unchanged 2 channel gain), I wanted the PS3 signal by the optical output simultaneously carry out the 2 optical inputs of my Denon receiver.
In receiver's menu, I pointed to an input channel "DVD" (for video playback) and an input "CD" (music playback).
On PS3 output an approximately 3 meter toslink (brand unknown) was attached, which was connected to the optical Y-splitter and two approximately 0.75 m long Inakkustik-toslink. The two Toslinks after coupling lead to the optical inputs of the Denon receiver.
Result:
I can smoothly conduct the Toslinkkupplung the optical signal of the PS3 at the same time on two different inputs of a Denon receiver and start depending on the source material with one touch the properly adjusted playback.
Who would like to implement similar configurations (eg. 2 different amplifiers to 1 optical output, etc.), this should accordingly reach adapter and cable distances comparable with this audio.
