With the expectation that it probably does not work, I have connected the device to my Volvo V70 (Bj. 2001 petrol). Right away the memory is read out, displayed errors and I could also easily erase. The same with our Seat Ibiza (Bj. 2003 gasoline). So this device does exactly what it is intended!
All thing is to be noted that it works with gasoline only from Bj. 2000 and in diesel from Bj. 2005. Before the cars were not necessarily an OBD2 interface, even if the plug is already present. A 96 Opel Omega from a friend was not recognized. Also, only ECUs can be read, which are covered by the OBD standard. Error messages of the remaining control devices that are manufacturer-specific, are not expected to appear. Also, certain very important error messages not to be deleted (eg airbag fault). That is the task of the workshop, course after correcting the error.
So if you are looking for a simple and inexpensive OBD2 device, which I can only recommend the Cartrend.
